Our skin is considered as one of the most important organ of our body, and taking good care of it is like taking good care of your whole well-being. But there are times that our skin is sacrificed over enjoyment and the by the beach, fishing on lakes, and some other activities that can makes us spend a lot of time under the sun. Having to enjoy under the sun is good thing, but when your skin is unprotected it can bring you some adverse effects such as skin cancer due to over exposure to UV rays and the like. The most basic way to care for our skin while we are under the sun is to apply a sunscreen that will not moderate the skin's exposure to UV rays. Sunscreen does not totally block the sun's UV rays – rather, it lessens the skin exposure to such rays. Therefore for those who wanted to get a perfect tan under the Sun, the sunscreen won't be a big hindrance to that dream. On the positive side, sunscreen will help you get that tan you had been wishing for in a manner that is safe to the skin. However, make sure that you are only using the most reliable brands of sunscreen available on the market for you to be confident that it really protects you against the harmful UV rays and not irritate your nice and lovely skin. In order to keep things organized, the American Dermatology Academy have created a list of tried, tested and proven safe sunscreen brands which are available in the market with very competitive price. They are as follows; Neutrogena, Coppertone, Anthelios, Blue Lizard, SolBar, Aveeno, Oil of Olay, Vanicream, Bull Frog and Ombrelle. This list of top sunscreen brands was released on year 2008 by the AAD (American Academy of Dermatology) on its annual meeting with the press and media board. AAD or the American Academy of Dermatology have also started to imprint their official seal on the sunscreen brands that have been tried and tested to be safe on skin.
When purchasing some of the above suggested sunscreen brands, please consider the following; ask your dermatologist if what is the correct SPF level for you to use according to your planned activities and also skin type because they vary per use and skin type. Also keep in mind that sunscreen recommended to be applied 15-30 minutes before going under the Sun and reapplying it after every 2 hours is also recommended. |
